The Cane Corso is a well muscled, large, and lean mastiff. It is built towards definition, than sheer bulk like other mastiffs. The ears naturally drop forward, but many people crop them close to the head, and also dock their tails . All Corsos should have a black nose except for the blue, whereas his nose appears to be grey, but should be darker than the coat.

Corsos are loyal protectors of the family, and are naturally suspicious of strangers, but when he senses his masters calmness he will eventually relax. Corsos are not barkers, they are a very quite breed, only barking when he senses his master is leaving without him. They often suffer from seperation anxiety.
