Appearance

Large solid built breed with a rough coat. Coat colors come in grey, fawn, black, blonde, grey brindle, and salt and pepper. The coat is not curly, but has whorls. A Bouvier needs to be trimmed at least three times a year to keep it looking nice and neat. The most noticable feature is his large head with the mustache and beard. The ears and the tail of the Bouvier are clipped sometimes by the breeder.

Behavior

The Bouvier is loyal and gentle, brave, alert, and intelligent. This breed bonds very close to his handler and family. Bouviers are also great guard dogs, and are able to recognize the difference between aggressive behavior and non-aggressive behavior, and act accordingly. They are generally socialable animals and if they have been socialized with pets when young they should do very well. bouviers love children and are very suspicious of strangers and will protect his family at all cost. They are known worldwide for their loyalty to their families.

The Bouvier is a breed originating from Flanders. they are used for a variety of task such as sheep herding, police work. guarding, cart pulling, cattle driving, defence dog, and a family pet. This breed has average demand for exercise, as it will enjoy a long walk or a trot along side a bicycle.
